3 MORNING ROUTINE TIPS ~

Here’s a peek into my morning routine!

Like most highly sensitive people, I function best day-to-day if I maintain strong morning and night routines.

We need to spend ample time in solitude to recharge and use this space for introspection and clarity.

Three tips for a successful day:

1) Hydrate first thing upon waking: As soon as I’m up, I drink a lot of room-temperature water and then add lemon or lime to some hot water. This strengthens my immune system, promotes digestion and generally refreshes me!

2) Brain dump: I write in my journal, about 1–3 pages soon after. These are any and every thought that comes in to my head. I shed my feelings on paper — this removes stagnant energy; anything that’s weighing heavy on my mind, body or spirit. This also forms part of my meditation. I end my writing with optimism; solutions, gratitude and I create clarity by outlining my goals for the day.

3) Stretch and move: The type of activity I do is based on my current needs. Lately I’ve done a few HIIT workouts because that’s what my body has needed. Usually, I do gentle yoga stretches or qigong. These take 15 minutes or less.

Simple!

You can rest assured that if I don’t begin my day in this way, I lose focus, get highly prone to distraction and things just don’t go my way!

Structure is important when you’re porous in nature and easily stimulated.

There you have it! Do you have a similar process?
