Shadow Work + Eclipses

‘Though her soul requires seeing, the culture around her requires sightlessness. Though her soul wishes to speak its truth, she is pressured to be silent.’

Women who Run With the Wolves, Clarissa Pinkola Estés

Healing from colonial patriarchy, misogyny, structural racism, and all forms of trauma, abuse and oppression is our ongoing shadow work.

An eclipse ‘season’ or ‘portal’ is a vulnerable time. It is when the collective shadow for a brief period holds a greater power than the light. In Vedic astrology, it is when the lunar nodes, Rahu and Ketu are activated (the shadow planets, which carry our karmas). It is a signal for us to go inward, to do an inner excavation — to face our ‘demons,’ to learn about them and to finally find the source of our own inner light — to nurture and call it forth from within.

This ‘light’ is another word for ‘consciousness.’

When outer shadows, such as the one that is clearly exposed right now like ‘racism’ unmasks itself in our external world, it is a signal to dig deep and do that inner work — what we call shadow work — the warrior training, to confront, move, transform and integrate this disconnected energy.

In doing so we continue to shed conditioned and often unconscious toxic patterns within ourselves and therefore contribute to healing our sacred feminine nature — our Earth being or ‘Gaia’ is an example of this divine feminine expression. (Healing the ‘micro human body’ heals the ‘macro earth body.’)

A solar eclipse on the new moon is happening at the end of this week (June 21st). These moments mark a significant shift and transformation and are reflected in big, often disruptive events in the world — whether they stem from natural or political/human causes.

As sensitive beings, it’s important to keep our inner light stoked — share the purity and wisdom that you hold in your heart with others. Return to your creative and spiritual practices. You may be feeling uncertain and vulnerable at this time, but let’s shift perspective, and come to know what strength looks and feels like within vulnerability.

Now is the perfect time to self-enquire and find out.

Meditative practices and contemplation suit times of unease and turmoil. Listen carefully to the inner narratives; the dialogue and stories that are on repeat and what effect they’re having in the physical body.

JOURNAL THIS:

1) What challenging emotions are surfacing right now? And Why? Discover and name these in this shadow period.

(Discomfort, pain, fear, shame, guilt and grief contain messages and wisdom, listen to or journal down what they need.)

2) What needs to shift and transform to support my higher values, intentions and vision?

3) What strength does my sensitivity afford me? In what ways are my sensitivities my superpowers, what form do these gifts take?

4) How can I use them to support myself and positively impact others?

Move closer to embodying your divine femininity (integrating shadow parts and therefore increasing your authenticity) — especially after the final eclipse on July 5th along with mercury retrograde which ends mid July.

Shine this growing inner light outward like a torch — your batman’s signal! Summon your wholeness. Rebuilding Self and World from a place of compassion and consciousness takes all of our efforts. It takes the spirit of the Warrior.

YOGA ORACLE ENERGY

BUDDHI

‘Buddhi’ is intellectual wisdom beyond the ‘monkey mind.’ It is knowledge untouched by our fears and worries and illusions. You are a precious wisdom-keeper that has realised that life is about ‘unlearning’ rather than learning. Your efforts to silence the mental chattering of your mind, which is a by-product of a distorted and biased reality are paying off. Buddhi denotes that it’s time to rewrite your story from the ‘higher mind’ of your soul. It is time to understand — to use the faculty of ‘discrimination’ — not just to think. Discern truth from fiction. Listen to these gentle whispers.

This quote comes to mind:

‘Unconsciousness can be like a virus that spreads from one generation to the next. But so can awakening.’
– Teal Swan.

RISE UP,
WARRIOR.
