Diwali and New Moon Wisdom.

“[T]rained in arts and versed in law; High-souled” ~ Ramayana

The beauty of Vedic wisdom is its mirroring of natural laws. Hindu events like Diwali (November 4th) are aligned with what is happening in the sky and on the earth. We are in an inward time, the light of the soul is dim, reflected by the Sun’s current debilitation in Libra. Diwali arrives in the depth of darkness, encouraging us to light our own candles, our own inner flames of truth and righteousness — dharma.

The festival of Diwali incorporates the celebration of Rama’s (Vishnu’s incarnation) victorious return to his kingdom Ayodhya, after destroying Ravana, the demon representative of the ego.

Rama is in essence the personification of the Sun; dharma, light and the highest wisdom, and of course his consort, Sita, (the incarnation of Lakshmi and signifier of the Moon which will also be moving into its sign of debilitation soon) is the spark that animates this inner light — the divine feminine. Diwali is how we embody abundance, prosperity and all ‘Venus’ matters — the home and the heart becomes important during this time, keeping our homes clean is a given — ready to receive Lakshmi’s blessings — also a way to call in wealth, as we also celebrate ‘Dhanteras’ on November 2nd, where in ritual, we wash and clean our money — this is also a very auspicious day for making important purchases.

Dhanvantari, to whom we offer thanks, is the source and deity of Ayurveda. Pay attention to the health of your body. Bring healing to the areas of your life that require it. Share your healing services! Dhan means ‘wealth’ in Sanskrit. And our health and vitality, the quality of our prana, is, as we know, our true treasure.

On Diwali, (November 4th) the moon will be New in the sign of Libra, in Swati nakshatra. There is a quality of air, wind and ether here. In the Ramayana, Hanuman, the son of the wind god Vayu (who lords this star) symbolises the harnessing of this mental chaos into spiritual strength; the energy is of expressing the life breath, prana, of expansion and new horizons. Venus being the ruler of Libra, signals a good time for creative projects, online social communication and networking. Swati offers pradhvamsa shakti — the power of spreading things far like the wind at this time.

Gujaratis like me celebrate ‘Bestu Varas’ — the New Year — on 5th November — a time of celebration and joy, newness, more lights, sweet foods, new items and close connections with family and friends.

In mirror of the season however life is slowing down. We can plant new seeds on this Diwali New Moon where the intention is for these to grow slowly, and steadily over time. We can stoke our inner flame in the coming weeks. But it is not a time for quick actions and results. Move consciously, slowly, enquiring within, learning new habits suitable for the winter period, progressing step by step towards your goal — resting as desired.

Is this the right time for you to receive guidance and support through a 6 week container to move closer to your authentic expression and vision? End the year with a clear picture of your path and purpose embodying new habits and rituals that are aligned with the birthing of your true dream — be ready for 2022!

NEW MOON INTENTION

Light a candle/lamp on this New Moon to reflect your inner awareness and consciousness during this season of shadow work signalled by the upcoming eclipse (Nov 19th). Honour your ancestors, and ask for their support and guidance to light the path forward for you. Embody the sacred energy of Lakshmi. Clean and declutter, make space to receive all the goodness of this worldly plane. No matter how dark events may get in mind and emotions during this season, Diwali reminds us that the light of the soul always prevails. Go inward, practice Yoga and organise your powerful mind for the common good!

MULADHARA

The root chakra

Bija (Seed) Mantra:

‘ AUM LAM’

Home. Root support. Foundations. Where is it in body and geography? Who is it? How does my ideal home look and feel? Does my current home nourish me? Does my sacred space feel like a place of anchoring?

If you’ve not yet set up a temple or an alter in your home where you can bring your devotion and thoughts to cultivate your intentions and reality, now is the time. An alter is also a place to pay homage to the ancestors and seek their guidance and blessings.

Set your foundations for what you need. Plant your feet firmly on the ground and find your centre. A new routine and self care rituals will strengthen this deep anchor within. Healing work is necessary. Unlearn unhealthy programs, stay rooted to reality, to the present moment, as you create your dream life.

Heal the ROOT so that the TREE can rise and grow firmly.

Client Testimonial

“I loved Payal’s holistic approach. Her focus was on helping me find the answers within because, well, they are all there. Just sometimes clouded in a fog. We did meditation, drawing and journaling, movement and also pulled her energy and goddess cards. One of the meditations was to increase the awareness of our physical, emotional and spiritual body, which I found very interesting. She also showed me breathing techniques to help me feel calm and grounded. Payal works very intuitively and so invested in helping you find the answers and your path. At the end of the session I felt energised and positive and confident about myself. I would recommend her coaching for any woman looking for clarity.” ~ M. Sapte.
