Golden Nectar of the Gods ~ Turmeric Milk Recipe for those low life force days.
Autumn is a season for slowing down and detoxing and cleansing our systems, for stoking our digestive fires (agni) and rejuvenating ourselves from the inside out!
Turmeric or Golden Milk as it in known in Ayurveda has deeply healing qualities for the ojas — one of our vital life essences that support our physical health and overall well being.
When I’ve had the cold, this magical potion has worked wonders for my immune system. Add a few drops of ghee (clarified butter), and watch your skin glow!
This warm, comforting drink is perfect for any dosha (constitution) type, i.e the bio-elements; Vata, Pitta, and Kapha (mixtures of air, fire, water and earth elements). Knowing your dosha can aid your cleansing process further and help balance your energy.
Other benefits of this golden milk include, supporting digestion, promoting sleep, relieving sore throats and coughs and bodily pains; it’s anti-inflammatory — the list can go on!
I’ll be supporting my full moon ritual by sipping blissfully on this liquid soma (nectar). How about you?
