Morning Alignment Prompts to Move Stuck Energy

Energy gets stuck in our bodies when we don’t confront our feelings and mental stories.

​When the same inner narratives are on loop life can feel stagnant, we focus instead on numbing our mind and emotions and a kind of dullness sets in which takes us away from our inner alignment.

A daily self-check in with our mental, emotional, physical and spiritual layers increases our awareness, offering us the clarity and power to choose our next thoughts and actions.

When we’ve got stuck in an unhealthy pattern or habit, that’s a signal to take back ownership of our time and energy.

But how? …I hear you ask.

(Before I list the simple steps in the form of writing prompts, I’d advise to listen to the meditation and spend some time journaling on the deeper issues and circumstances that underly the resistance to positive change.)

A way to stay in alignment with our desires and goals and remove stuck energy that’s clouding our movement forward is to JOURNAL THIS each morning!

As Funakoshi says, place your SPIRIT FIRST before your action.

Step 1) Re-ignite your connection to what drives you! This may mean to visualise and contemplate on where your aim is — your heart and its desires. What goals are you trying to meet and more importantly WHY?!!! What does alignment look like for you? This will be your source of motivation.

Step 2) Create a strategy! How will your day begin? How will it end? What is happening in the middle?

Step 3) Name what is not working. Identify the external sources of distraction — literally write them down and do an audit of what’s using up your time and energy. e.g. social media/phone calls, doing tasks unrelated to your priorities, binge watching netflix — you get the idea! Next, list the action do you need to take to remove these distractions and sources of resistance. And keep looking at the list to discipline yourself to create the boundary and not fall into unconscious behaviour!

Step 4) How do you need to show up to execute this strategy and match to your desired alignment? Name 1–3 main tasks to accomplish by the end of the day that will leave you feeling satisfied.

Aim to journal the answer to these questions each morning! And practice sticking to your intentions.

Get clear — clarity is a power!

(Remember that you have the power of choice! It is there. And it’s a constant practice to CHOOSE where your attention goes.)
