Yoga Oracle Guidance for May 2020
The New Moon in Taurus, occurring this Friday will be transiting the nakshatra or star space called ‘Krittika’ symbolised by an axe, or a razor sharp blade. Its planetary lord is the Sun and is ruled by the fire deity, Agni. It has the primal power of Shakti, to burn away the shadows that dwell within with its purifying light. Quite a stern warrior-like energy, it calls for self-leadership to clarify your personal truths in this time of uncertainty and instability. In Taurus, we are given extra boost to manifest our desires in a new world that we can dream up for ourselves. A New Moon is an inward, quiet time. Look within to cut away what no longer aligns with your goals and ground your steps with purer thinking and steady action.
The following oracle reading is taken from my Power Thoughts offered in my Facebook Community at the start of each week. Send me a request to join and receive these weekly group intentions, affirmations and guidance! Or get on my list to receive them every Tuesday in your inbox!
CARD 1: SHIVA
Destruction and Rebirth
This card indicates that in your own way you are on the yogic path! He is ‘Adiyogi’ — known as the first yogi ever! His enlightenment was attained after his ecstatic dance atop the Himalayas! Soon after this movement, came stillness, then came liberation from worldly forms — society, body, mind and ego. He represents the warrior’s spirit! And this card signalsfor you to do the inner work to evolve, and at the same time, liberate others by sharing your self-knowledge and wisdom! We all have something to teach, step into your role, with one foot in your higher self, one foot dancing on earth.
Synchronistically the masculine energy of Shiva reflects the star of Krittika! This dark phase of the Moon is calling in your own ability to destroy inborn illusions and regenerate again from these ‘deaths’. What will be your new beginning? Plant your intentions now.
CARD 2: GODDESS OF THE MOON
Intuition, Going Within
To support the card above, we have Shakti energy here — your inner essence and vitality. Your creative superpower, your sensitivity and intuition! In a sense, we can say that Shiva as the masculine force represents the physical body and the Moon Goddess, the pranic life force, represents the breath which animates the body! Another form of Shakti energy is Venus and synchronistically, in Vedic, sidereal astrology, we have the New Moon in Taurus this Friday (ruled by Venus who is currently in retrograde). This card signals an inward journey to collect the medicine or the ‘soma’ the nourishment or nectar that you need this week. This requires self devotion and periods of solitude.
Venus energy indicates a focus on relationships. Remember, however, that the first relationship is with yourself! All other relationships respond to how you show up and connect with yourself first. This card indicates a time of building self-trust so you can lead from your intuitive powers. Build authenticity with Self so that others can connect with your true form.
INTENTION:
Practice the art of balance between movement and stillness! Schedule in that hatha yoga practice or another form of movement that allows you to connect with your body, mind and soul! Or dance ecstatically with Self! Lean in to the pauses that arrive after movement and honour moments of solitude with full presence (like the full moon in the card). There is deep work to do.
AFFIRMATIONS:
I practice dancing between body and breath.
I am learning to trust and honour my intuition.
I spend real time in solitude to connect with my inner spark.
I listen to the messages I receive.
Rise Up, Warrior!
