Art is a kind of innate drive that seizes a human being and makes him its instrument. The artist is not a person endowed with free will who seeks his own ends, but one who allows art to realize its purpose through him. -C. G. Jung
The guidance for the rest of October cannot be any clearer than this:
CREATE.
Create so it exists.
Create the art.
Create your life!
I never have to try hard to offer these guidance articles. I use what I have, the answers are always close, I am listening to whispers around me, observing what is and isn’t working, attending to my needs and the guidance always flows through!
The hardest part is actually making the time to write it!! There is so much freedom and joy in self-expression, in creativity, but the irony as I recently noticed in a special group of women I have begun to observe and co-coach, is that time must be scheduled in — there must be a sense of structure, discipline and organisation for creativity to flow.
Isn’t this the principle of Shiva and Shakti? Shiva, the masculine energy provides the container for the feminine creative life essence, Shakti, to flow.
Something however, needs to be destroyed so that there’s room to bring about a new creative expression, whatever this manifestation is for you!
Then we must tend to the environment around us. How would you like to fill this space? Do you have a sacred space? Have you cultivated the space to thrive?
Many of us are on the precipice of change. It is usually those of us who tend to our darkness, to our inner work, those of us who challenge our obstacles and take new steps that are able to transform the blockages into the stepping stones that bring about positive change.
The planets Saturn, Jupiter and Mercury are all stationed direct now, indicating a forward movement with plans and a sense of progress but not without a strong and steady foundation. Walk, don’t run.
As Bruce Lee once said, the goal is not meant to be reached, it is the aim that is to be valued; the process is the true treasure. Let’s place emphasis on valuing the journey itself, instead of the outcome.
Are you struggling with bringing your life and art some discipline and order? Are you recovering from a set back or are well into your [s]hero’s journey?

INTENTION
Bring a sense of softness to your structured days and weekly plans. Practice compassionate self-discipline. Clear the channels for inspiration and allow creativity to flow.
JOURNAL THIS:
⫸ What can softness look like in the context of structure, discipline and organisation? How can I be gentle with myself and my actions?
⫸ What does my ideal creative space / living environment look like?
⫸ What needs to be released for me to clear the clogs in my creative channels? Think to the level of mind, emotions, relationships and environment.
(Option to use your answers for your Full Moon Intention. Moon is full on October 20th in Ashwini nakshatra, a star of vitality, healing and new beginnings.)

SARASWATI
Creativity, Intuition and Insight
ámbitame nádītame dévitame sárasvati | apraśastā́ iva smasi práśastim amba nas kr̥dhi |
~ Rig Veda
‘O best Mother, best River, best Goddess, Sarasvati, as soon as we are without (the power of) expression, O Mother, create for us expression.’
Saraswati Devi, patroness of the creative arts arrives at the second half of this month to give you the message to pursue your creative project/s with full force! She is the sacred river, the flow of inspiration, the nourishing nectar for our soul in the form of art, music, dance, and literature. Associated closely with Vac Devi, the goddess of speech and sound, she delivers the embodied truth, and is a revealer of the true nature of things, her power being, the spoken word.
As communication and language is her domain, Saraswati’s message is to connect with others through creativity. Create community! Interestingly, I pulled this card during my online co-working session last week, a space I have cultivated to build community with like-minds! It was also the last three nights of Navratri — the nights ruled by Saraswati herself! It was truly a gift to receive this card and offer my fellow co-workers and I the message to remove self-doubt and pursue our projects with full steam!
This oracle nonetheless denotes a time of learning and acquiring self-knowledge to build trust towards our intuition for the purpose of expanding our inner light and wisdom.
The rivers of inspiration are moving, the question is, will you move towards it, with it and through it?
In which direction can you flourish?
What are you saying YES to?
It is no secret that creativity dispels the darkness of the mind.
