Ready for a mid-month reset?
Right now I’m going through a period of massive upheaval and change! The louder the external noise gets, the deeper I know I must settle within myself to navigate the changing terrains.
Slowing down, learning how to practice deep rest, honouring my inner cycles and rhythms has always been a challenge for me — it is an ongoing battle — pun intended. ‘Warrior Training’ has been my mission for so long and still is — I see a transition arriving however, do you feel a sense of positive change coming?
The irony is to face any struggle, to embody the warrior, is to create the right circumstances on the battlefield — this means to get ample rest and stillness to create an inner environment in which one can thrive; paying attention to the basics; managing the inner critic (practicing yoga to stay aware of the mind), sleep, health and diet; along with creating an external environment that supports our daily habits, rituals and routines (first chakra things.)
Your environment also includes the people around you. Take stock. What needs to change? Am I feeling rested and being supported?
How can I pivot to experience the next couple of weeks in a way that increases my strength and prana (life force energy)?
The best time is NOW. Honour where you are at. Start from here. Susan Sontag’s poetic line, ‘I create myself’ comes to mind!
Pausing, allowing ourselves to rest without guilt creates space for self-enquiry, deep reflection and healing — no matter how chaotic our external environment may be — it’s in our best interest to awaken to this choice!
Journaling is one special resource for achieving this confrontation and transformation.
Check out my previous short article: “I Create Myself” 5 Quotes to Inspire Your Daily Journaling Practice.”
A warrior pauses to feel, she faces her demons, grieves, rests, creates clarity and fosters the intelligence and strategy to create the necessary conditions for strength and stability.
You are worthy of everything life has to offer.
INTENTIONS
Allow yourself to process and not suppress your feelings.
Take solace in rest and recuperation.
SAVE THESE AFFIRMATIONS:
I am worthy of the joy and self love that comes from self-connection, self-trust and meeting my own mental, emotional and physical needs.
I am worthy of being listened to and having my needs met by those I allow into my personal spaces.
I am a warrior because I work to align with my authenticity and truth.
JOURNAL THIS:
⫸ Are my daily rituals supporting how I wish to show up right now?
(If not what can I start doing differently?)
⫸ What does true rest and recuperation look like for me?
(Start implementing!)
⫸ How am I feeling right now?
(What clear steps can honour what I need in the coming weeks?)

VATA
the airy Dosha: creative, imaginative, and unpredictable
Creative warrior, it is time to let your ideas flourish. Too many unanchored ideas leave you feeling scattered, anxious and ungrounded. Continue with your root chakra work; reconnect with the Earth, your physical body and clear your immediate environment of clutter. Dance with your thoughts rather than be swept away by them! Taking action ensures the manifestation of your vision. This oracle could also indicate a vata imbalance, i.e. too much air/wind/space which causes an overall disturbance to our mental, emotional, physical and spiritual bodies. Dosha, after all encompasses the meaning of ‘fault’ — we are all affected by the natural elements — the key for fixing the result of a cause is always examining it at the root. The ‘fault’ is a signal of misalignment with nature and our internal rhythms. Did you know that during our menstrual cycles, vata is naturally increased? The remedy for this is adequate rest and rejuvenation. Tend to your diet with warm, moist foods as overly spicy, cold and dry foods contribute to vata’s powerful qualities. Creating stability through routines will help too — aim to eat, sleep and wake up in consistent patterns.
More on the Vata dosha in this book by Rohit Sahu.
